Thank you folks for making this year’s homegrown show a huge success! It was a blast, and a beautiful stage to play. I was selected in the best-of homegrown 2012 blog for the Current 89.3 in Minneapolis!
We’re looking forward to this years Duluth Homegrown Festival! Here’s a blurb they put about us in the Homegrown Magazine:
“Part Lucinda Williams and part Charlie Parr, Colleen Myhre’s gritty songwriting is as rawhide tough as it is genuine. She has released two albums worth of acoustic storytelling and is often joined by multi- instrumentalist Tony Petersen. Her first, Rivers Run Dry, was appropriately recorded in her living room deep in the Mahtowa woods. For her newest effort, Ride of My Life, Myhre traveled to Sparta Sound to record with award-winning producer Rich Mattson. On stage, her rustic persona can entertain both a honky-tonk’s hardboiled regulars and tranquil coffee-house crowds alike.”

Colleen Myhre is a small-time girl proving she has more than enough to give.
Written by her and her husband and recorded in the living room of their rural Northern Minnesota home, her first album Rivers Run Dry, is a testament to the hard work and dues she has paid performing in local honky-tonks and taverns.
Myhre is a folk-country-blues singer/songwriter grounded in passionate and sincere family values. Her songwriting ranges from honest emotion and earthly imagery to the raucousness of horses, strippers, and whiskey.
Myhre possesses the ability to hypnotize listeners by creating sympathy between her voice and guitar that resonates a true American, and local, spirit
